By accessing or using the Statnive website (https://statnive.com), creating an account, or installing the Statnive plugin, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“you” or “User”) and Statnive (“we,” “our,” or “us”).

Description of Service

Statnive provides a privacy-first analytics plugin for WordPress. Our services include:

  • A free, open-source WordPress plugin distributed via WordPress.org
  • Premium plugin tiers with additional features, available via paid subscription
  • A website (statnive.com) with documentation, support resources, and account management
  • Customer support for licensed users

License Grant

Free Plugin (GPL)

The free version of Statnive distributed through WordPress.org is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later (GPL-2.0-or-later). Under this license, you may:

  • Use the plugin for any purpose
  • Study, modify, and adapt the source code
  • Redistribute the original or modified versions

Premium Plugin (Commercial License)

Paid tiers (Starter, Professional, Agency) are provided under a commercial license. Upon purchase, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Install and use the premium plugin on the number of sites specified by your plan
  • Receive updates and support for the duration of your active subscription

The premium license does not grant you the right to:

  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the premium plugin or its source code
  • Remove or alter any license keys, copyright notices, or proprietary markings
  • Use the premium features after your subscription has expired or been terminated

License Key

Premium features require a valid license key. Each license key is tied to the number of sites permitted by your plan. You are responsible for keeping your license key confidential.

Account Registration

To access premium features or manage your licenses, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to engage in any unlawful activity or violate any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, servers, or other users’ accounts
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any proprietary components of the premium plugin (beyond what is permitted by applicable law)

  • Circumvent or disable any license verification, security features, or access controls
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with Statnive or use our trademarks without permission

Intellectual Property

Our Property

The Statnive name, logo, website design, documentation, marketing materials, and all proprietary components of the premium plugin are owned by Statnive and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The free plugin’s source code is licensed under GPL, but the Statnive brand, trademarks, and premium-specific code remain our property.

Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit through our services (support tickets, feedback, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use it for the purpose of providing and improving our services.

Feedback

If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about our products, we may use them without obligation to you. We appreciate community input and often incorporate user suggestions into product development.

Payment and Billing

Pricing

Premium subscriptions are billed annually at the rates published on our website. Prices may change with notice; existing subscriptions will not be affected until renewal.

Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You may cancel auto-renewal at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Taxes

Prices may not include applicable taxes. You are responsible for any taxes imposed on your purchase based on your jurisdiction.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose — We do not guarantee the plugin is suitable for any specific use case.
  • Non-infringement — While we take care to respect intellectual property, we cannot guarantee the service will not infringe third-party rights.
  • Availability — We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the website or plugin.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure the plugin functions correctly with supported versions of WordPress and PHP, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with every hosting environment, theme, or plugin combination.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Statnive shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

  • We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain adequate backups of your website or data.

These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Statnive, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of our services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

Termination

By You

You may stop using our services and close your account at any time. For premium subscriptions, cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to our services if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
  • Fail to pay applicable fees after notice

Upon termination, your right to use premium features ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification) will remain in effect.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Statnive operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If negotiation fails, disputes will be submitted to the competent courts of the governing jurisdiction.

Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes:

  • We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
  • We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect
  • Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Support & Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Statnive regarding the use of our services.
